Waste as Art / Year 7
Project Reflection
What was your final piece? Describe it.
My final piece was an artwork where I sent a message due to plastic pollution in the marine life, I took a piece of card paper and added texture while painting a blue background for a more realistic look to the artwork, I got some old plastic bottles I had and plastic wrappers and created a background by sticking them on, I got bottle caps too, as to create scales on a fish Miss drew for me.
Did you work alone or collaborate in a team? What was your role? What was it like working with others (If you did)?
I worked alone through out the project.
How did you use waste to make art? What processes did you go through to create your final piece? Did you have an experiments, discussions, sketches, research? What recycled materials did you use?
In the project I used bottle caps, plastic wrappers, and more. To create the final piece I made 2 sketches of what I wanted my final piece to be but took some inspiration from the artist I chose.
What artists did you research and how did they inspire you?
I looked on Michelle Reader and saw how she is making a change through art and so are other artists but how she makes sculptures using recycled materials in her sculptures as well, she is not well know as artists but she is making a difference in today's society.
What was most successful about your final piece and the project? Why?
I could not finish my project but i'm really happy on how the fish scales worked and the background as well, as it was the most creative part of the project so that's why i'm really happy with how it looks.

What did you find most challenging within the project?
I don't think there was anything in the project which was really challenging but the way I structured it and the thinking what to do was really was the hardest.

How did you overcome this challenge?
I took sketches and trial runs on how I wanted my art to look like and gave it a try, and thankfully it worked out.

How could you improve as an art learner in this project? What would you do differently next time?
I think I could improve on if I could make reflections on my project so I could look back and see how I can develop with even more creative ideas. Next time I can see the mistakes I did in the last project and do a trial run over it and see if it looks nice I can make an art piece out of it.
