Revolting Rhymes - Lesson 1  L.Q:- Who is Roald Dahl and what did he do? What is a Revolting Rhyme? Who is Roald Dahl? - Roald Dahl was born in Cardiff, (1916 - 1990), he is a worldwide famous author for children's books, till this day!  What other Jobs/Occupations did he have? - He was also a British novelist,  poet, screenwriter, and a wartime fighter pilot., he served in the Royal Air Force during the second world war. Examples of 5 books he wrote - Matilda - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory - Rhyme Stew - The Twits - Esio Trot What is a Revolting Rhyme? Revolting Rhymes is a collection of Roald Dahl poems published in 1982. A parody of traditional folk tales in verse, Roald Dahl gives a re-interpretation of six well-known fairy tales, featuring surprise endings in place of the traditional happily-ever-after finishes.
