LQ: How can using waste to make art bring awareness to the global waste problem?
Planning
You will design ideas for a piece of art that is up-cycled and made out of waste material.
Up-Cycle - Using your deice, write in a full sentence the definition of 'up-cycling'.
Up-Cycling is all about having recycled materials and create something new with it, like having old pair of jeans and making either a denim skirts, shorts, jackets and more, by painting, sewing etc.
Step 1
Concept - What environmental issue do you want to raise awareness about? What message do you want your art to contain? How will you visually represent this message?
I want to raise awareness by the plastic use of us humans and send a message to people on how us polluting our earth is not only effecting creatures but us as well, we will lose generations among us as well, our earth can not handle much plastic and can just let go by causing, climate change, global warming [which has already been affected] and many more consequences. I want my piece of art to represent the different type of waste and how easily it can be reused in different and unique ways that could help us but also the world, as to also creating a sculpture of a creature or recycled items such as a bottle made out of things we can reuse.

Why is this environmental issue important to you? What is this units global context and how does it address this issue?
I really didn't care about any of the environmental issues that were happening, but now as it is getting more severe, I normally wonder whats going to happen with our world, it may not be effecting me but its effecting my home, I can now see the change in Climate Change over the past years and it is getting more and more worse by the second, This units Global Context from my opinion is Globalization and sustainability, The global context address's the issue very well by showing in what global surrounding we live in and how we can sustain such a life to survive with such little things to help us with.

- Scrap paper
- Cans
- Newspapers, Magazines, Paper Bags
- Clothes, Towels
