Definition of the 7 formal elements:-
Line - Line is one of the 7 formal elements which describes scribble lines on the piece of art which brings out the piece of art in 3D or 2D in sketching.

Shape - Shape is also an element in the formal elements which describes the curve of shape, the small details that have a very detailed shape also in 3D or 2D.

Space - Space refers to the distance between different pieces or components in art.

Value - Value means darkness and lightness in a drawing and different highlights tones and expressions.

Line: the line is created when a pencil or brush creates a path when left at a moving. They are used to show contour (this makes the shape and form of something) or feelings and expressions (by making a short, hard lined gives a different feeling to a more flowing movement). Lines can have many different formats- they can be horizontal, diagonal or curved. The length can be changed overtime, it can begin with a curve and end on a horizontal line.

Form: this is a shape in 3D e.g. cube, cone, cylinder. An example in art would be sculptures and 3D designs use form. Although in 2D arts, tone and perspective are used to create the illusion of form.

Texture: this involves the surface quality of something, like the way something would feel or look. These come in two type; actual texture (really exists, so you can touch and feel it. This can be made by changing the surface- like fabrics stuck to a canvas) and visual texture (this represents actual texture. The looks like a texture or surface but earn you touch it is smooth. This can be achieved by Ines, shapes colors or tones).

Tonal drawing: is the variation of black to grey that is done on a drawing. This is usually done on paper with a pencil. This often shows the sow increase or decrease from light to dark from one end of the drawing to another.
Actual texture: this is the combination of how the painting looks compared to it being touched. Such as, things may look like they are uneven but they are actually smooth.

Reflection:- In our lesson, we had to create all 7 elements in art on a piece of paper describing, Shape, space, value, line, Tone, texture, form. we created unique ways to describe the 7 elements by having different designs.

WWW:- I had a good understanding of the different elements and can describe what each of them means.

EBI:- If I carried on doing all the elements and describe them in a more detailed way.
